Scholarship

Each year, the Jackson (MS) Alumnae Chapter provides thousands of dollars in scholarship awards to qualified high school and college students who reside in service: metropolitan Jackson, Rankin County and Tougaloo Community. Most of our awards are for those enrolled as full-time students with grade point averages of 3.25 each semester based on a 4.0 system, or its equivalent.

Jackson (MS) Alumnae Chapter administers three different types of stipend and scholarships (see below). An applicant who is selected as a candidate to receive an award must attend an interview conducted by the Scholarship Committee.

JMAC Book Stipend & Scholarships:

May Week Book Stipend – a book stipend for local high school seniors entering college in the upcoming fall semester. Five hundred dollars ($500.00) each will be award to a number of students in our service area. The number of students to receive an award is determined by the chapter each calendar year.

The chapter will award two (2) scholarships of one thousand dollars ($1,000) each, one to a full-time student at Jackson State University and one to a full-time student at Tougaloo College, who have maintained a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or above. All sophomores and juniors who are Deltas or who could become Deltas are encouraged to apply.
