Academic Excellence in Action: Dr. Preselfannie E. McDaniels Named Interim Provost at JSU

Jackson (MS) Alumnae Chapter is proud to celebrate the appointment of Dr. Preselfannie E. Whitfield McDaniels as Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Jackson State University.

A tenured professor of English in the College of Liberal Arts and former Dean of the Division of Graduate Studies, Dr. McDaniels has served JSU with distinction since 1999. Her leadership portfolio includes chairing an academic department, directing major accreditation initiatives, and securing competitive funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and the National Science Foundation via the Council of Graduate Schools.

Her appointment reflects a steadfast commitment to academic excellence, scholarly engagement, and student-centered leadership. We salute this distinguished scholar and trailblazer as she continues to shape the academic vision of our Dear Old College Home.
